Trans fem and trans masc are *USUALLY USED AS* umbrella terms, like a trans fem person could be someone who’s transitioning from a man to a woman but it could also be someone transitioning from a man to a more feminine/neutral nonbinary identity. And the opposite for trans masc. But everyone’s definition of these words is different so it depends on the individual.

agree with #2 but can’t reply to the thread because the comment was deleted transmasc is not a “polite” way of saying “transgender afab” it’s a label to describe a trans person embodying a masculine gender (may or may not be a man). same for transfemme, it’s not a “polite” way to say “transgender amab” it describes a trans person who has a feminine gender (may or may not be a woman).
