People who named yourself after something (a character, an object, etc) - what does your name mean to you? What made you choose it?

I chose the name Sidney mostly because I just like how it sounds, but also partially because of the character Sydney from the bear

I chose the name Elliot because I was really hyperfixated on The Magicians at the time. I named myself after a gay alcoholic, but at least the name fits and it stuck for like six years at this point. (But I also really liked the name as a kid and thought that if I was born a boy I would be named that.)

star wars was my trans awakening as a kid and my parents would’ve named me lukas if i was born a boy. so my full name is lukas but everyone calls me luke.

I named myself a character of a show on a whim, but over time it eventually just became My Name… I have a lot of memories with it now, so it feels weird thinking that I named myself after a character I think about twice a year lol

Both her and Carmy remind me a lot of different aspects of myself so I thought it would be a good fit to use one of them as my name, especially since it was one I was already considering
