Wanting to start HRT but my transphobic parents are nosy and I’m still on their insurance. If I don’t give them consent to access my medical stuff, they’ll be upset. HELP!

self-pay (don’t use insurance) at a clinic, like planned parenthood. often they have sliding scale fees which can make it more affordable.

if you use their insurance they will be able to tell what medications you are prescribed, there’s no consent involved (speaking from experience—my parents found out because I used their insurance).

Yea I used a sliding scale fee when I hadn’t met my deductible yet. It was pretty affordable especially since it was based on my income and I’m unemployed rn lmao. But that’ll depend on each persons situation. And you can use GoodRX for the prescriptions in place of insurance as well.
