so, if the government does start rounding us up like joey mannarino suggested… what do we do? if they go through with it, they’ll likely find us by looking at our medical records. although i’m not medically transitioning atm, gender dysphoria is in my list of records and diagnoses. if they come for us, what do i do? go off the grid? hide? lose my entire life?

i’ve never shot or even held a gun but i do want to learn. my dad owns guns, is former military, and a great shot so i’ll preferably learn from him (dw he’s supportive of me)

If they try it will be incredibly difficult from a legal perspective. But also, in the unlikely event that this does happen, claiming asylum in Canada, Mexico, or any other country is probably not the worst plan

thankfully i’m within 10 hours of the canadian border and used to long drives so that would be a viable option. in addition, my parents said they would help hide me if need be

I doubt it'll come to this, but get your passport if you don't have it, live in a blue state if possible, and look into study abroad programs / other similar ways out of the country

sadly i’m in a pretty unique program and i’m already struggling to pay the in-state tuition in my deeply red state. moving isn’t an option for me until i get my degree in may 2027 :( i don’t think im allowed to get a passport anyway since my legal name doesn’t match my birth certificate anymore

:( I'm sorry you're stuck in this spot. From what I know you can still get a passport but you have to bring your birth certificate and the court documents for the name change. As much of a pain as it is imo it's worth doing. Stay safe out there <3
