T4T incides all trans - not just trans men and women. Nonbinary, demi, fluid, etc - all of that is included and I’m tired of people saying T4T is only for trans men and women who like other trans men and women. Trans is an umbrella term.

i had not heard this take but i agree with you. i’m t4t and gay, so when i say it it applies to transmasc people specifically, but without a clarifying distinction on the gender preference there, trans means trans

This is only tangentially related, but when did “trans” stop including crossdressers and people with gnc expression? because it used to

It’s a common thing I’ve run into in person :,) mainly in adult dating spaces/queer bars unfortunately

My read of it is online queer spaces are often very self regulating and even out to largely the same political leanings over time. But irl there’s a lot of chance that people only interact with other local queers and don’t have the chance for those kinds of views to be challenged, or simply don’t care if they’re not online or politically involved enough. They intuit definitions that work for them and don’t look for new ideas

Honestly I’m not sure! I always thought those were more fashion related, not gender specific! I.E afaiwa, cross dressers still identified as their gender at birth, they just dressed in a non-traditional way

that’s true, they still used to fall under the umbrella as recently as the late 2000s and maybe later
