How do y’all transfems deal with facial hair dysphoria. I can’t get laser yet bc expensive but the dysphoria is hell.

For me just shaving as close as I can and as often as I can😭 maybe try finding ways to get the absolute closest shave possible. The way I do it I think it’s called a foil shaver? It’s electric basically. But I’m not sure if that’s the BEST.

Ngl I just shave whenever I brush my teeth. Once in the morning and once in the evening. Tends to keep it at bay for the most part

waxing is gonna be your best bet in terms of both smoothness and the longest lasting results (besides laser) and you can actually DIY your own sugar wax out of basic pantry ingredients and follow some tutorials to do it yourself. it does result in some redness so maybe do it on a weekend and then the inflammation will go down by monday

I shave every morning with a pubic hair razor. Also need to moisturize and stuff to take care of your skin

Not transfem so idk if it’s different for facial hair but ik for body hair waxing is usually longer lasting than shaving and gradually the hair grows back slower I think? It does mean you have to let it grow out a lil bit between waxing tho so idk if it would work for you

Shave with a very good quality razor that works for you— and, don’t bother with laser, get electrolysis done for genuine removal and not reduction and regrowth.

For face it’s a bit different bc the skin is more sensitive (especially on estrogen) but i believe if you do an all natural honey wax it does help. I just haven’t gotten to try it yet bc im lazy

most electrolysis places will recommend starting with laser first

Any good one won’t. Laser isn’t permanent removal and it often regrows even years later. Far less effective for the vellus hairs and even worse for BIPOC folks. It gets by with their “lifetime” packages and word of mouth, and often advertising “permanent” in bold letters with “reduction” hidden away. I’ve worked with both laser and electrolysis and have seen how laser fails. I’m not wanting my community to be let down or harmed by it.
