im seeing her literally in 20 minutes and idk what to tell her since she didnt bring up any of the side affects im worried about (which have been published in peer reviewed articles so its clearly not nothing) like low t levels and drop in sex drive + vginal discomfort (im a t guy)

i’ve been on accutane for 6 months and it’s been great just regular accutane side effects. side effects r different for everyone ofc but if ur rlly worried maybe ask ur hrt dr and get bloodwork done. u can always try something topical first but if u rlly struggle with acne i highly recommend accutane the pay off is amazing

my dr only recommended accutane bc ive been with her for about four, maybe five years trying different things for it. tho my acne isnt like the absolute worst its still pretty bad and really persistent. i talked with her about it earlier and we decided on trying a low dose first since im the sort of unlucky that would run into issues and just keeping an eye on things for now

that’s great! if all goes well they’ll probably keep bumping u up (i’m on 80 mg rn lol) but if u have any pain or depression definitely tell ur derm. personally it’s been a huge confidence booster. if you’ve struggled with acne as long as i have 9 months on accutane is a small price to pay for clear skin

If your T levels drop could you increase your dosage to get them back up?

I also did acutane and the only "permanent side effect" I got was something that’s actually genetic (dry eyes) & was actually not likely caused by the acutane itself. I did also go on a higher dose and had a lot of the temporary side effects (chapped lips dry skin etc) so a lower dose for longer might actually be better anyway! Afaik it works the same, just more slowly
