
been in treatment for chronic illness consistently since early childhood, and I can say pretty confidently that the average qualified medical specialist 1) puts too much stock in their own sense of “authority” / is disproportionately over-confident in their assessment of many subjects relating to their field, and 2) does Not actually keep up with new research
i’m happy for you! my doctor’s appointments go like this me: hi! blah blah i need this other new med blah blah you should order these labs in case of blah blah blah and also i’m lowering my dosage because blah blah. numbers business etc doctah: hmm yes you know more about this than i do lol. this all sounds good to me! i ordered those labs and noted the dosage change and here’s that new prescription. me: thanks mr doctor man! so long 👋
