I ofc can’t speak for every trans person, but I really hate this “but you were ___ and now you’re ___” some people do Like no, fuck off. I was a young girl gaslit by people and sometimes verbally abused by men into acting like a boy purely because of anatomy I never wanted. And it was so successful I believed I was one for a while

it's an easy way of explaining us to cis people and i get why people say it but it's easy because it's simple not because it's universally true. it's frustrating that it's the standard narrative. traps you in it being a choice or that you're actually [birth sex] (<hurl. gross)

Ik we have come a long way on trans rights, but there is still sooo much further to go and I think some of that is because we’ve simplified stuff down so much Like if I get told I have “male privilege” for being a trans woman one more time I’m going to lose my shit. Read abt transmisogyny and listen to trans women. Or if I hear people talking abt how my trans men friends are these divine afab people im throwing hands on their behalf
