It really baffles me why christians are so obsessed with depicting a literal torture scene again and again.

it’s partly meant as a striking and provocative model of how Christians should live (self-sacrificing). unfortunately, a lot of Christians are self-serving. it’s too bad that the depiction of giving one’s life for others reminds a lot of minority groups of self-serving bigotry :/
