It feels like people would like me only if I detransitioned. As a trans man, it seems like anywhere I go, I’m hated. I will not be man enough in the eyes of society at large, and my proximity to masculinity leads other queer people to see me as a threat

I’d rather be hated for who I am than ‘accepted’ for my made up pretend womansona. She’s not even that cool anyways

If it helps I’m a trans woman and I absolutely do not see trans men as threats <3 very much the opposite I love y’all :3 I have multiple close friends who are trans men/trans masculine in some way. Also I agree with #1 Being yourself is always worth it at least from my perspective. No matter how many weird looks people get that they think I don’t see when I say my name or whatever else it’s still worth it for me.

That is how it seems online, but in-person the queer community is really supportive.

I feel like it’s better to just be you and try to not let society define you. If you can’t enjoy your journey, how can you miss yourself? Do what makes you happy and express yourself, don’t be a facade just to please people. If they don’t accept you (and intentionally hurt you), then don’t worry about them. Care about those that accept and support you, so that you have a community you can call family.

you would not be saying this if you knew what it was like being transmasc. In person i get constant fucking digs at my masculinity that either imply they see me as a threat or that they basically just see me as a weird ugly woman. Including from other trans people and other nonbinary people

I literally hear this from trans men too, many of whom are in denial about the fact that the queer community at large rejects transmasculinity in any form. there is noticeable hostility toward masc presenting queer people who aren't cis men that affects everyone from gnc cis women to gender-conforming binary trans men, and ive seen multiple cases of ppl directly using a person's masculine presentation or use of he/him promouns to justify straight up bullying or abuse

It's actually significantly worse in so-called progressive areas too. Because why in the fuck do cis men treat my non-passing gnc nonbinary ass, very easily clockable as some type of trans and not obvious whether i'm a man or woman, with significantly more respect than most queer communities do?? For some reason a lot of queer women treat me in a way that's straight up dehumanizing even if they see me as a woman
