i would say yeah, it's worth it, although i'd be using that time to scramble for coverage. presuming cost is the barrier: if you can get the manufacturer of your t (or a different brand that a pharmacy near you is able to stock) to enroll you in a patient assistance program (if you qualify. even if you don't on paper, call them/email and explain your situation. sometimes they can make exceptions), that's a way to bring costs down. injections are way more affordable than gel if you can do that.

there’s also a bunch of coupons you can find online. there was a point when i was able to get four vials for like 12 dollars

oh yeah like ppl always say goodrx, which i agree is a good intro to pharmacy savings cards, but i can literally always beat the price by shopping around with other pharmacy savings cards. i would try prescriptions in my hometown as well as where i went to college, and i could get it down to $11/90 days of finasteride, for example. t i ran through my insurance since it was covered, but there's a ton of savings options if it's a cost barrier.
