I asked my parents what they would’ve named me if I was born a girl (Avery if you were wondering) then I thought about some of my favorite characters/people from media and thought abt their names and chose one (or an alteration of one) from the list to try out. I found out FAST when I didn’t like a name, and now I’ve been called my current one for a year and love it

I just picked the male version of my birth name tbh

I crowdsourced from my friends (some gave joke names that were not helpful, but I kept them anyway for the memories) and then saw one I resonated with and picked that after trying others out. I later learned that it was a creative reference to a character from a very well-known tv show that she had a crush on. No regrets
