I think part of it may be because 1. Once trans people start to pass you don’t notice them anymore so it makes passing seem way harder than it might actually be. I mean shit I have probably interacted with multiple trans people who I had no idea were trans. And 2. The media purposely shows non passing trans women to try to vilify us and make us feel like shit.
