Came out earlier this year. Parents claimed to be very accepting and were fine with me going on HRT. But they absolutely refuse to use my name/pronouns. Nobody even tried to use my preferred name on my Christmas presents :(
Can you afford to go scorched earth? When my family would use my deadname, I’d correct them and then wait for them to correct themselves before the conversation continued

Ive been there. It’s hard and it sucks and I’m not denying u ur pain… but it gets better, transphobia is all pretty privilege… you’re early in transition still, it gets better.

Not really. I do love my family, but we live in a very traditional area of the South where trans people aren’t really a thing anyone is supposed to talk about. If I were to try to correct anybody, it would be very offensive to them.

Oh I’ve been trans for over a decade, lol, just came out to my family so I could finally start HRT 😅 I’ll keep being patient because that’s all I can really do right now
