If you got a solid support system then hell yeah that’s what I did! And it’s okay to feel a little embarrassed or shy during the process, when I was strictly nb in high school I went by a shortened version of a girl’s name for THREE YEARS under the thought that it was a gender neutral name and didn’t question it until someone asked if my legal name was non-shortened version 😭. When I got to college I used a shortened version of my deadname, and it stuck!
