also a lot of what people use asab language to say is a repackaged form of "male/female socialisation" rhetoric which generally comes across as terf-ish.
it’s not a personal attack to be told to self-reflect abt the implications of the language u use. yes, u can still use that language to self-describe if u want—but also some trans ppl (esp nb ppl) have never been told they *don’t* have to disclose asab.

Also furthers transmisogyny!! Like I don’t want to stir up shit, but there is a small section of the trans community that has an unaddressed transmisogyny problem. I’m tired of the response to stuff like “afab only housing” being “wow they don’t see trans men as men heh” and not “wow these people are basically kicking trans women to the curb”. Or when people say “it’s not a competition for whose discrimination is worse” when it’s objectively the case that trans women (particularly black women)

are killed in higher numbers. Or that there’s no difference between “ohh such a pity this woman cut off her tits” and “these crossdressers are coming after your kids as we speak”. Yeah both are discrimination, but one poses a more immediate danger It’s why ASAB language is something I’m strongly against. It’s terf-y, bioessentialist, and transmisogynistic. Often times you’ll flat out see people use it as such, like “afab housing” or “amab socialization”
