Anesthesia and painkillers will make you constipated. I had laxatives for both my hysto and top surgery, and it took me 3 days to poop

I think it took like 4 days for me to be able to poop after surgery. I ate a shitload of my favorite fruits for hydration + fiber and that helped :)

my mom got put on two different laxatives as soon as she got out of abdominal surgery (her surgeon told her to). it's a common side effect of anesthesia and opioids

oh i didnt take any of the opioids i think my problem was just being too scared to squeeze but i think i figured it out
