Something about how people treat Lily Tino has always extremely bothered me. I don’t know enough about her to understand it all, but it’s always felt like just an excuse to be transphobic rather than confronting an actual issue.

still vividly remember that one Girl Talk post saying “is it ok to misgender my rapist?” and everyone in the comments was like “YESSSS you don’t owe HIM any respect” and eventually the OP said “oh it was a trans guy” and everyone flipped and was suddenly ok malgendering him 💀

hard agree! it creeps me out really bad how many self-proclaimed allies seem really eager to dunk on her over ultimately-trivial things and to even question the legitimacy of her transness
