Yeah I have to say I’m pretty disappointed in some of the comments here. If we posted a news article of a women raping a high schooler with a similar caption, it would be a different result. And before anyone comes at me in the comments, no I’m not excusing this pile of filth’s behavior, but it shouldn’t say men in general
Yeah I feel like men saying “not all men rape” has become known as something “only incels say” or something. Which I find crazy lol. Yes, if you’re trying invalidate a woman’s experience or say she’s silly for being scared of an unknown man, then yeah you’re an idiot/incel/whatever. But if you’re just saying “hey, pls don’t lump me in with rapists”, then I think that’s a fair point.
There’s too much nuance in the topic for most internet peoples to feasibly understand. “Not all men rape” is a statement which by itself is fact but when you say that to a woman talking about her experiences then that’s rude. On the other side “it’s all men” is true in certain circumstances, like doctor related sexual assault-1
- but saying “it’s all men” completely invalidates the 10% or so cases of a woman being the perp. Just because men do it more and are generally more violent when they do, does not mean there aren’t woman predators who are accountable for their actions. I’ve been SA a few times and one of the perps was a woman. So the “it’s all men” in general is insulting to me
Welp, you asked for it. This is just statistics though. People can be different, and this data isn’t indicative of how a person will act. But data shows it’s more common in African American individuals. I encourage you to research yourself as well. Percent of U.S. population: ⚪️ 72.3% ⚫️13.5% Percent of all sexual abuse in U.S.(minors): ⚪️ 57.5% ⚫️16.1%
