The Amish live in their own communities in villages, don’t integrate, don’t even speak English natively despite living here for centuries. Yet conservatives still like them. It’s almost like what matters is skin color rather than anything else

Don’t pay taxes either

They also don’t really vote either. There’s a few but it’s frowned upon

As somebody who live in Lancaster PA (I’m not Amish but I see them daily) , I get your point but your description of them is horribly inaccurate

What’s the stats on Amish crime lol. The issue is the crime not the skin color, illegal immigration is a crime. Being born in a closed community on US soil is not

So you admit it’s not about immigrants who “don’t assimilate” as the reasoning seems to be now?

They pay income tax, sales tax, and property tax (at least in PA). They don’t pay social security or Medicare tax though because their religious beliefs require them to refuse those benefits

I’ve never heard that being a logical reason. However refusing to obey basic laws is a form of resisting assimilation. I’m not really sure what ur definition of assimilation is tho

They usually don’t elaborate after that because it boils down to “they’re not Christian, don’t speak English well, or aren’t white” 💀

Or “They’re here illegally” which is valid.

Is that why we’re picking them up at their naturalization appointments? Their legally mandated check-ins? Deporting people who have work authorization? Miss me with that bs

I’m not really sure where you’re getting your “news” from, but I’d recommend staying off Tik tok lol. Are you saying that we shouldn’t deport people who are here illegally? I’m confused

Crimes that happen in Amish communities typically go unreported due to them being not integrated with the rest of society. Sex crimes, domestic violence, animal abuse, abuse against children, ect are actually fairly common in Amish communities.

I didn’t say any of that? We’ve deported people who are here legally lmfao. We shouldn’t do that at all

That’s a guess. It is however a FACT that if you are here illegally you have committed a crime.

Funnily enough a lot of Amish ppl also get a lot of DUIs😭

That not a guess that’s a fact 😭 crimes are typically not reported in Amish communities due to them being isolated from society and usually due to their views. If a woman is SAd in an Amish community chances are she won’t be able to report it due to the patriarchal system of the Amish

Where are u getting this from though? You’re just assuming this is a reality, it cannot be proven unfortunately. However, it can be 100% proven if someone is here illegally. What even is the point you’re trying to make?

It’s actually a civil offense sometimes, but good try!

The point I’m making is crime does happen in Amish communities. This information is easy to find just by googling and digging. Like there was a child sexual abuse scandal in 2022 and it happened in an Amish community.

If we want to talk about crime though, the animal cruelty is NOT good

The Amish have HIGH animal abuses cases because they view animals as machines. Amish men have been arrested for beating buggy horses

They dump so many animals as well. A lot of their horses end up bought by kill buyers and dogs end up dumped on side of the road

And usually when someone enters the country illegally they’re usually fined and jailed for a few months😭 entering the country illegally in the US is on par with trespassing

So to answer ur question on “what’s the crime stats on the Amish” serious crimes are underreported for a multitude of reasons and the crimes that are reported(typically by ppl outside of the community) are usually animal related, DUIs and animal abuse.

Nope. Overstaying your visa is how many undocumented immigrants end up here, and that’s a civil offense. Read the law, look at some stats, and stop embarrassing yourself
