Remembering the time I got tear gassed at a peaceful protest while singing “this land is your land.” Like we were all sitting on a hill with our signs and singing completely peacefully outside the city hall and we were shot at and gassed for it.
How so? Didn’t really get that from my reading of the lyrics

I don’t interpret that as necessarily pro Christian, I more read it as ‘we have these churches and institutions that are supposed to help people yet people stand in their shadow still hungry’
