I don’t think the grocery store will work but everything else will work. I know freezing rent is kinda mixed in economists eyes, but the reason it’s important is because working class people make NYC NYC. Otherwise it would just turn into Dubai with 0 culture and mostly billionaires and near slave workers. NYC has culture because of all of the different people groups there

I mean why wouldn’t it. The proposal isn’t just to like nationalize grocery stores. It’s to open 5 government run stores in what are currently food deserts. These are places where grocery store chains don’t want to and aren’t willing to expand, which harms the residents there.
