Nah fr. Suffered through an engineering degree for zero payoff. Should’ve just done something I enjoy like being a mechanic. I’d probably be employed and wouldn’t have spent 4 years and thousands of dollars doing something I can hardly stand

damn i found my people. i was told technical writing was the best field to go into if you want to have a career/are good at writing, so i dropped the creative writing major in favor of that…then AI took every technical writing job out there and i hated every minute of my classes and im swamped in debt lol

i think everyday how much easier it would’ve been if i kept writing as just a passion and went into a trade…

Fr!! I had (have) things I enjoy much more that I could’ve actually made a decent living doing but instead I chose to go into debt for this degree that is not super useful atm. All everyone told me while I was choosing to go into engineering was “people will be falling all over themselves to hire you”

i heard the same thing! “they’ll need so many of you guys to train AI” was a lie…they needed us for a year, 2022, before i was even in the market for a job. i still write songs and make some side money performing myself and sometimes writing for local bands, which allows me to pursue my actual passion while making a little money, but it isn’t close to what i was being promised when i switched my major in 2021. $50 and 3 free beers every other weekend wasn’t exactly the career plan i had…

Dude! Could you dm me maybe? Or just say more about how you got into song writing? I’ve been writing a lot of music myself (not sure it’s good but I’m doing it) and I’d love to do something with it but don’t know where to start!

Hey if you want me to write/preform some shitty lyrics over a bass riff I’d be happy to oblige lol
