china wasn’t my exact place in mind, bc China isn’t “cheap”. The comment above is right, the oop was thinking of Asia as a whole, which by large is a cheap place to travel—bc of widespread poverty

I mean Japan, China and Korea is cheap but I wouldn’t call it poverty stricken. Also most if not all places with a large tourist industry either fucks over locals by having wealthy people visit pricing out locals like Barcelona. Asia isn’t really an exception besides the white man thing

Nah th RMB exchange rate is so good u can def get what OP is talking abt in places like shanghai or guangzhou or maybe even chengdu or Xian

I didn’t mean those nations either. There are more than Korea Japan and China. The Philippines, Thailand, Napal, Etc… those are the mains place. Shanghai is def cheaper than other areas, Hong Kong is cheap bc of the drastic class stratification, China is so fucking large, and they have major populations zones to more rural areas, the rural places are cheap—bc of poverty. China has a bad poverty and class stratification problem. Japan is not cheap, neither is Korea.
