Capitalism is directly responsible for the existence of the Epstein class, there is no argument against this. The systems that have been in place for centuries now have led to the development of a class allergic to accountability and justice.

inequality rather than capitalism itself, societal elites having young concubines for sexual exploitation occurred under mercantilism and even in ancient societies before capitalism was even conceived

I strongly agree with your sentiment and spirit but this is historically false on a tiny little technicality

Occam’s razor says it’s because of corruption and power, which are not unique to capitalism

No it’s not, it’s pedophiles with good lawyers. Capitalism is not a creature it’s an idea, and you nor I would exist without it. 9 out of 10 chance if the confederacy would have one America would be sold off or gone by now. Don’t blame the system just because it didn’t work fantastic for you, it didn’t for me either, but the system didn’t blame a person for their actions. No other ideology would America prevail in the manner it has today and it didn’t matter what party you are

Agreed but I’d argue that capitalism allows for a unique set of conditions that promotes inequality over equity. I’m by far more anti-inequality and anti-authoritarian than I am anti-capitalist

Capitalism is relatively new in human history. Epstein-ism comes from developing an addiction to power over other people and having the power to indulge in it. We can observe similar perversions in royal courts throughout history on every continent. It happens that capitalism produced this current Epstein network but it isn’t exactly the root cause.

At the end of the day it comes down to wealth and power, both of which are both promoted as the end goal of unchecked capitalism. I won’t disagree that you can see other examples of this throughout history but I will argue that capitalism promotes the very existence of a class of people who are not held accountable for their crimes against the vulnerable

yes capitalism allows this to happen but it’s more the results of capitalism in terms of the inequality of power rather than anything unique about capitalism itself

Is that still not a reason to be inherently anti-capitalism?
