tbf we all know the flu is real but don’t act any differently abt it other than getting flu shots. but saying that the flu isn’t real would also be insane

I still know people getting it so idk about that, but also I haven’t looked into precise statistics. it also mostly affects older or immunocompromised people so us college-agers won’t know as many people getting it

There were only 950 something worldwide deaths in December, about 1/5th that of the flu

thanks for the info, that’s good to know and nice to hear. that’s still not enough to say it’s not around anymore like Measles or the Spanish flu, but meh

Ok my bad, I was thinking of a study from 2024. The current CDC death estimates are down from that number, 45k—64k deaths for 2025.

950 in context of global numbers is not a fuck ton I don’t think, and its still trending down from that

i mean it’s not a lot but it’s weird it’s happened at least 950 times

Covid deaths are about 1/5 that of flu, Lightning strike deaths are about 1/5 that of covid Numbers are fun

Think of the long term implications though. We know that COVID damages the body with repeat infections. More hospitalizations, more disabilities. At the very least we should clean the air
