I don’t care who you vote for, what your views are, what you do in life i will never hate you. Unless you’re one of those people that make a pasta dish with the pasta in its name like Macaroni or Spaghetti with a noodle that isn’t in the name. Fuck you

You are making champanelle with cheese. never call it mac and cheese

I am following all the same steps I would to make it with macaroni noodles. In the abstract sense of mac and cheese as in “a sauce that is paired with cooked noodles”, it is mac and cheese.

Mac and Cheese is Macaroni and Cheese. If you make it with any other pasta you are incorrect

Just wait until you hear about eggplant lasagna, that’s not even a noodle

I like subbing in toenail clippings and rubber bands for noodles. Is it still a mac and cheese then?

eggplant lasagna is not lasagna it’s eggplant lasagna. it’s in the name. you are making a different dish

It’s eggplant lasagna. it’s a different dish. it is a lasagna inspired dish. it’s not lasagna it is eggplant lasagna.

Hot take but lasagna is honestly kind of a mid pasta dish, always thought so. Would much rather have ziti for a baked pasta dish over a lasagna

And yet it’s still called lasagna, and still is lasagna. Same recipe with one thing changed. Almost like making mac and cheese with a different kind of noodle.

it’s not. it’s eggplant lasagna. it’s a different dish. mac and cheese is only macaroni. you can use the same recipe but it’s going to be a different dish.

And yet we’re still here calling it a lasagna. Putting the word “eggplant” in doesn’t make it less of a lasagna, it’s still in the name. If you go to a restaurant and the cheesy pasta dish is made with shells or rotini, it’s still gonna be called “Mac and cheese” on the menu every time.

because you’re wrong. it’s not lasagna because it doesn’t use lasagna. and it’s going to be like that.. because they are wrong. It’s not mac and cheese because… it’s not mac and cheese. It’s in the name

If you bring a cheesy pasta dish to a dinner party and someone goes “ooh! Mac and cheese!” And you go “erm ackshually it’s ROTINI and cheese 🤓” they’re gonna give you a dirty look lmao

Yeah honestly I agreed with the OP at first but I can also see this. Like I don’t really mind if someone makes “mac and cheese” and it’s a really well prepared mac and cheese but they just used another shape of pasta. The shit that pisses me off is when I go to the dining hall for “mac and cheese” and it’s penne with the shittiest cheese sauce ever. Or when people call everything fucking spaghetti. That’s what actually pisses me off

i’m going to leave the party because i don’t want to be associated with those kinds of people. I would never be friends with someone that doesn’t understand basic pasta naming conventions
