How so? Do you want it to regulated by the government then? Police taking them to jail is much safer than being at a man’s motel.

They aren’t safe with police either- there are dozens of accounts of cops assaulting prostitutes (and hell even not prostitutes). By decriminalizing it we allow prostitutes to have an opportunity to find safety and protection under the law without fear of prosecution for themselves. Some government regulation could do good in the way of brothels.

Legalizing it would also encourage women to find a career in prostitution which is horrible. Wouldn’t wish that life on anyone.

I feel like it would decrease it- more opportunities for people to join the profession without having to go deep underground, opportunities to report assaults and violence to the police without fear of prosecution for themselves, and possibly brothels to create a safer cleaner environment.

The people that want prostitution services are getting it, it being legal or not, legalizing it would only protect sex workers from weirdos and freaks

No the argument goes that legalizing it increased the demand to a point where their aren’t enough not trafficked sex workers so some are trafficked in to meet the demand. I think there’s some evidence behind it.

If a consenting person wishes to do drugs would you let them? A personal choice doesn’t immediately mean no intervention is needed. God forbid if one of my friends wanted to do drugs or commit s*icide, I’d stop them in a heartbeat
