When the fuck did people decide that marriage is a Christian thing? Like do you not believe people of other faiths get married? Or that marriage was a thing long before Christianity even?

Might have something to do with the fact, oh I don’t know, that the service is lead by a priest? Lol that’s like saying “When did people decide praying towards Mecca five times a day is a Muslim thing?” Sure not all forms of marriage are Christian, but the overwhelming majority of marriages in the U.S. are lead by a priest, making it a “Christian thing.”

you know you don’t need to be a priest to be an officiant? that’s literally just up to the preference of the people getting married, hell Guy Fieri officiated like 100 gay weddings in one day or something
