Tell me you don’t know our own history without telling me. When Social Security was passed, *93%* of Americans died below the poverty line. When worker’s safety laws were introduced, children were chained into factories (see: triangle shirtwaist) There’s a pendulum effect, and unless lobbyists can stop it, it’s about to swing violently back towards an FDR/Eisenhower vision of our economy (taxing the rich, protecting labor & small businesses, breaking up monopolies, etc.)

There is quite literally no force fighting against lobbyists. They are entirely unopposed. Of course they can stop it.
