I think now more than ever the GOP is both morally and logically inconsistent, and you could say maybe even more so for Trump supporters themselves. Caring so much for DEI being removed and not allowing “unqualified” individuals into job positions, but with the government we’re just ok with somebody (who had 0 political office experience prior to 2016) into the presidency and somebody (who has no medical education or background) to be appointed as Health Secretary?

I’ve always operated under the assumption that everyone wants to make the world a better place as a whole. Maybe that’s a poor assumption to make in the face of people who think like you.

You’re a single issue voter. You don’t care whether the American government makes America better or worse as long as it accomplishes your goal along the way. The wellbeing of the country is not your main concern, immigration is.

And isolationism has been an impossible policy for a century. The U.S is still the largest player in the international space and our policies affect the rest of the world. We do indeed have a responsibility to make sure that our actions don’t jeopardize the wellbeing of everyone else. Though maybe you don’t feel the same way.
