I think those people were right, Facebook is crazy threat to privacy. So are all the other social medias Prolly including YikYak I wouldn’t be super surprised if our data got aggregated (or not) and sold to highest bidder

No I agree, it’s all all single steps to get as much information from people as possible. PayPal just another way to get payment info from people, but with the benefit of being more easily used online. eBay to see what people want to buy and sell. (And sell data) Facebook to hear/maniuplate what people say/think (and sell data) Palantir to hear/manipulate what people do (and sell data)

To be fair I think it is kinda sad how open they are with it Including the gambling btw. It’s transparently evil and dystopian to turn every difference of opinion into a gambling addiction

Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, AND Peter Thiel were ALL considered threats to privacy? no way! next you’re gonna tell me all three of them have made an intentional shift to military contracting in the last year… perfectly coinciding with the formation of the AI bubble and the explosion of Palantir stock… yeah right… that would like never happen

It’s all a means to extract as much wealth from the lower classes as possible. E.g: I’m doing extensive genealogical research into my ancestors right now. At the time of them coming to the US (pre revolution), having under 100 acres of land meant you were poor. And the price they paid? The lowest I saw was 1 shilling (about $10 today) per 20 acres. Granted the norm was a few $s per acre post revolution Now you gotta pay like 1000x more for land. Granted cost of goods is way down, but…

… that’s not wealth. Keep the people “consumed” on mass produced basic products that keep them appeased while those with wealth continue to hoard the means of accumulating said wealth. The biggest group hit of course are the lowest classes, at least proportional to their wealth status. But the most money is draining from the middle class. Has been, really, ever since the market collapse following the war of 1812 and the napoleonic wars. Then again in the 20s. The 40s-60s were goodish
