many people believe the hospital won’t fight as hard to save you if you are an organ donor. or the hospital will try to make money off of the organs. send them to israel. all sorts of stuff. i’m never gonna tell those people to become a donor if they don’t want to, but i also believe they shouldn’t get to receive organ donations when they actively discourage organ donation & limit the supply with their vocal fear mongering.

I’ve heard all these rumors before (my mom is unfortunately deep down the rabbit hole) but I didn’t know there were people with significant platforms pushing this stuff, I always assumed it was just lunacy spreading through Facebook chat rooms.

if this is what you believe, don’t donate ur organs! it’s that simple. but there are many people who desperately need organs, and if i’m brain dead, i would want my organs to help them. the worst case scenario to me is being brain dead, attached to a machine, unable to help anyone. the worst case scenario to you may be someone taking you off of that machine when there’s a chance you live. and i can respect that.

what i can’t accept is you telling other people not to donate their organs, and then you being eligible for an organ donation when it’s suddenly your life on the line instead of someone else’s.
