They can do those things because they tax the 1% effectively unlike the US. The problem I have is that the trump administration is using immigration as a scapegoat to normalize authoritarian practices outside the scope of the law.

So how come other countries can have strict deportation laws and the US can’t? You guys always say these countries are better, safer, have more money for free healthcare, I wonder why that is? How come Democratic leaders can deport illegals with no due process and your lips are shut? If we didn’t have an open border under Biden this would not be happening.
