pretty big strawman, it’s more that the right has a broader set of moral standards for what constitutes healthy sexuality (which includes how people dress but also a ton of other shit) whereas the left sees it more as exploitative of women and male gaze-ish/patriarchal

I promise I’m not trying to come at you and I apologize if you’ve heard this in relation to yourself or someone you know but given how often people say people say this is a common talking point, have you genuinely heard it in real life? I feel like I’ve never heard it once in real life and only once in a clip of some 80 year old republican dumbfuck politician, I feel like I would hear it more often given how often it comes up

I've heard it multiple times in real life. Common in frat/ drug rapes at the college I live near. It's always that or "oh why'd you let him spike your drink".

I will say it's almost always said by people who are removed from the situations but that's how the idea spreads. Just people saying it to friends and friends saying it to their friends until it reaches the victim.

fair point, makes sense. I don’t doubt it at all, I guess I’m just lucky to have lived my life around people that rightly see all sexual violence as deplorable (and I was in a frat even lol)

kinda checks out, I’d tell you as well but I don’t know think I’ve ever associated my school with my username. it definitely helps that my frat was a less popular chill one, I’ve heard some of the “top” ones at my school full of boarding school kids do some sick shit

Frats have been kicked out of Penn State UP for situations I just described, issues with kids dying from hazing rituals, etc. the frats here are disgusting and full of truely sick and twisted people.
