and also, given the “both sides” stuff i feel it’s important to note that the Democratic Party is also right-wing. there is no institutional presence of left-wing politics in our country. Globally there is, but we’re primarily seen as entirely right-wing by the rest of the world. republicans could be described as far-right, while democrats could be described as center-right (at best)

Thank you for that fun fact, but I’m not talking bout that, sure there is systemic racism yes, but I’m saying as a young adult in America there is a lot of pressure for us to choose left or right in the US. I’m looking at what affects me personally, and something that we have a say in.

This is what right wingers claim they are doing about trans people all the time. It also occurs to a lesser degree with gay people, immigrants and the children of immigrants, and I have even seen cases regarding segregation.

I believe that the LGBTQ+ community should have rights, but I believe that they should leave children out of the idea until around 16-18 years old, then they have an idea to choose what they want and who they want to love. With the immigrants side I agree with you fully, but I believe that the rights that America has should only be given if they come here through the legal and fair way, ex. Seek asylum, apply for citizenship naturalization etc. basic human rights should already be given tho.

The thing is that the “let them get older” thing is never actually applied that way. It’s never “oh he’s young we don’t know if he’s straight” or “oh they think they are trans, let’s get them puberty blockers so they can choose later.” It’s forcing kids to be straight and be cis and assumes that any deviation from that is “woke indoctrination.” The neutral for a kid being trans isn’t forcing them to undergo a natural puberty that will harm them for the rest of their lives.

Additionally, many people are attempting to prevent adult trans people from accessing car and trying to force them out of public life. There’s also people trying to send gay marriage “back to the states” or legalize discrimination if it has religious justification And if illegal immigrants don’t receive rights like a fair trial, then nobody has rights because you have no way to prove you aren’t an illegal immigrant if you can’t defend yourself.

I see what you mean, my political beliefs are that the gay community should have every right that anyone else should, marry who they want. But I believe the push to get kids involved in the idea, kids as in elementary and bringing drag shows to them is not the best idea. I think fair trial is included in that basic human rights. But on the other side of that, it isn’t hard to produce the papers you have and work with and comply with the law. Corruption is another topic tho
