I agree and see how that’s difficult for you, being from Texas, where you probably grew up around firearms. You probably get a ton of hate for being pro 2nd amendment, since it’s a polarizing topic

im pro 2a, with conditions. i firmly believe that convicted abusers should not be granted license to carry, all licenses should require classes and training, and the gun show loophole must be closed. i have a concealed carry license, but we should be doing all we can to ensure guns are defense weapons only and only trained adults should have access😤

I totally respect your opinion, but just to clarify: convicted abusers are already banned from owning guns under federal law, and the “gun show loophole” isn’t real. Licensed dealers still do background checks. A lot of these talking points are myths

i hear you but the gun show loophole is the big one here. its not anout licensed dealers, its the highest bidders. all my life they out billboards up. they check absolutely nothing. if you got the cash they’ll give u the gun. that can be double barrel, pistols, glocks, or ARs. even if you have a record, in the state of texad if u can get to a gun show or have a friend to straw purchase, you get a gun :(

Licensed dealers at gun shows still run background checks, same as a store. What people call the “gun show loophole” is just private sales, which can happen anywhere. If someone skips the law, with anything, that’s already illegal

I think we’re in agreeance. What I am saying is that gun shows dont only host licensed dealers. If you have a civil war relic you can sell that, but if you have an AR in the back no one checks. Licensed dealers idgaf about. Its the under the table, facebook marketplace, friend to friend that causes a problem bc theres no system in place for that. All my family carries and has licensure, its the people who find loopholes that make all gun owners seem like villains.

I get what you’re saying, private sales is definitely an issue. The way I think about it is drugs. Calling it a gun show loophole is like calling street drug deals a pharmacy loophole, licensed dealers follow the law, it’s illegal sales outside the system that are the problem
