Anyone else resigned to the fact Democrats need to nominate a white man for president because this country is sexist and kinda racist again

I’ve been saying this and it’s so unfortunate. Kamala deserved sm better. If she was a white man she would’ve won by a landslide

I genuinely don’t understand why anyone actually gives a fuck about the race or gender of their representatives rather than their policies

What’s wrong with caring about both?

I just don’t get it, it doesn’t affect anything, why do so many people care

They bring different backgrounds, experience and perspectives that can help strengthen the country. Thought this was common knowledge

Background isn’t as much about your race/gender as it is your class, someone like Kamala has more in common with Gavin Newsom than she does with AOC

Agree to disagree. Class is another factor but it’s 100% just as much about race and gender.

Not to be that mf but a lot of people who are white men don’t realize the effect that race and gender still play for many Americans. The data still shows some pretty stark racial / gender divides in a lot of professional/academic settings

Class is still highly determined by generational wealth, which has a lot to do with the people that our systems were built to benefit (rich white men)

Again though Kamala got into two seperate R1s and never struggled finding a job, she never faced the same struggles that other black women did, and it’s mostly because of how rich her family was

Sure but that’s an exception, not the rule. Sometimes underfed kids will outperform kids with plenty to eat as far as grades go, but typically not. Systemic inequalities don’t mean that success is impossible, it just means that it’s harder for some than for others
