i fully agree, its so god damn annoying that we as a society are allowing a dictator decide what we can and cannot do and then he threw a tantrum over his stupid ass party.

While I agree with the sentiment of an impeachment, it unfortunately doesn’t mean a damn thing unless they vote to remove him.

A dictator? Congress was notified within the Congressional War Powers’s 48-hour window following the commencement of the bombings.

that’s only part of it. congress still needs to authorize further action, and if they don’t any troops that might be deployed will need to withdraw

Approval isn’t needed.

Since the bombings appear to comprise the entirety of the military’s intervention against Iran, Congress’s authorization isn’t requisite.

congress’s authorization is required under the War Powers Resolution unless an attack occurs on US soil. sec 5b covers what happens if the President does not gain approval, and if they do not approve now then there are 60 days to withdraw troops and cease involvement

and you’ve also gotten into the flaw of this act which was created after the vietnam war to prevent the president from abusing their power as commander in chief

It is comically easy to circumvent so long as the military is not continuously engaged for 60 days.

Congress should have been more fastidious when writing the law.

but they weren’t, and here we are. so now that we’ve established that’s BAD, maybe we should set a precedent for the future
