slightly off topic but why do ppl so often use “arab” interchangeably with “palestinian”

Correct, they do exist, but this is why they interchange it with the word racism. Erasure of the Palestinian identity is their goal

Palestinians are a Levantine Arab people

So why not call them Palestinians

but not all arab people are palestinian and the palestinian aspect is the relevant part not being arab. if they’re specifically talking about palestinians it’s misleading to say arab as if you’re talking about all arab people
