Being out of control of your emotions is the weakest thing a person can do. Like what, you’re mad at your wife because you had a bad day? She didn’t do that my boy. She gonna shoot your ass for beating her lmao

Unless there’s like trauma or something involved, anger issues are a red flag. Sorry, but you need to grow up and act like an adult

Even when there is trauma involved. And I speak from experience. One upon a time I had very bad anger issues, as a young kid, due to trauma. Like, enough to get me detained by the police. Don’t hear me bitching.

Emotional issues are hard to deal with, and if you’re working on it and seeing progress that’s one thing. But lots of people do nothing, and I find it unbelievably pathetic.

You still have to remember some people were raised in environments that made getting help unacceptable. It takes a lot of support to undo that conditioning

Right but ultimately if you mistreat people as an adult that’s their own problem. Like you can have a brutally unfair childhood, but once you’re an adult the way you treat others is your responsibility and no one else’s. IMO.

That’s right, but doesn’t mean they still don’t deserve to be supported and aided in changing and becoming a better person. You don’t just wake up at 18 like “ah yes, I am an adult. Time to fall out of the coconut tree and become a fully functioning person”. That shit impacts your behaviors for a LONG time. And takes years and even decades to undo. And doesn’t happen on its own, especially when they were conditioned to believe those behaviors were acceptable

Yeah but I’m also not saying they shouldn’t get help and support

Like not saying people who are being mistreated by someone have to stick around to help the person mistreating them, that’s absolutely not true in any capacity. But just to say we shouldn’t discouraging people who are willing to (and just chucking all “bad” people off a cliff never to be dealt with again bc they’re “bad”)

Right but I feel like I made a pretty solid exception for those people. We can cut out “and seeing results” if you think I should be casting a wider net.

But to be clear I agree
