Looksmaxxing is male to male gender transition, but motivated/informed by the most twisted and predatory people in that entire community of men trying to express their gender in the first place. It’s akin to certain harmful cycles promoted in fringe online trans spaces as well (NEVER engage with trans 4chan it’s an actual layer of hell istg)

Society places an oppressive ideology of masculinity onto men that serves to make them feel like they must constantly participate in capital and own something to actualize their gender. Wealth, women, and labor status is seen as the fulfilment of manhood. (The very fact that women are placed with possessions is a key factor of the patriarchy). When the capital structure ultimately declines and men cannot actualize their gender in the same way as their fathers did 1/2

2/2 they do what women resorted to for agency prior to gaining more social equality. They must look the part of manhood, this is allowed in our structure because it requires a participation in capitalism and consumerism to fulfill. Men who cannot own and obtain capital instead strive towards a beauty standard to actualize this, which gay men have also done for increased agency for years now. However, this is newer for straight men, and is a signifier of the current state of capital. 2/?

3/? Men now do not put value in their income and ability to purchase, but in their physical beauty and ability to become marketable. This does translate into economic power algorithmically, but not outside of digital means of acquiring wealth. As the ability to make money and survive within the system decreases this behavior will increase, and i suspect add a new sexual pressure onto men. This could fundamentally change the species on a social level as well. As prior men used resources to

4/? "Get" a woman, now they must use their physical beauty to gain this privilege. And if you read anything from "looksmaxers" the drive to have sex is the fundamental force to their behavior. This is all because the system used to determine how men gets to have sex has fallen apart with capitalism.
