I mean, people who started companies that have a ton of value I get them “being” that rich Like if I started my own company, own 51% of it so that I have the majority power of my own company, then it grows to $10B, I’m technically worth $5B. People shouldn’t be forced out of their own companies just because they do well. But, that said, they should still be limited on how much that initial holding can grow
What if you start a company from the ground up, like OpenAI, and it grows to be valued in the billions? If you hold a majority stake, you’d be a billionaire. Would you sacrifice the company you started? Once you get below 50% of the company, you’ll no longer have a say in how it’s run. An outside group can come in and turn your company into something far worse than you built it
ownership and control isn't that simple. there are different classes of shares, for example, that have 10x the voting power. that's why mark zuckerfuck will control facebook until he dies or gives it up - because he owns the majority of class B shares at facebook. there are means and methods for owning and operating without being disgustingly rich. you're fantasizing about being disgustingly rich and not wanting to be taxed to make excuses for people who exploit millions of people. why?
