Yeah, I’m German myself (great grandparents immigrated) and live in an aggressively German city, which also happens to be one of the most liberal cities in my state. I also know the majority of Germans are very embarrassed of our history and do as much as we can to remove ourselves from that part of history.

These conclusions are drawn from strictly the Midwest which has had more conservative views throughout all of the US. Additionally the lifestyle/values of the Midwest make it more drawing for the people to vote for a conservative candidate.
