I honestly don’t know anymore, dude. I hate Newsom for a variety of reasons but he’s the only one who’s offered actual substantial pushback against Trump. I will vote for anyone who promises a campaign of complete retribution against the republican party, ie. enshrining gay marriage as a constitutional right, mandate healthcare providers cover gender-affirming care, national ban on the confederate flag, designate the proud boys as a domestic terror group, abolish ice, etc.

I don’t think Kamala lost because she’s a Black woman, I think Kamala lost because she lacks much charisma and failed to distance herself from Biden’s failings and energize the Democratic base. There’s a reason she dropped out of the primary in 2020 before a single vote had even been cast, and it’s because she’s just not President material. She’s never won beyond the state level in California, which is a layup if you get the Democratic nomination there. She’s never won a contested race.

My point is exactly why Obama won in 2008 and why Trump won in 2016. People wanted anything but the “establishment” politicians. Obama winning in ‘08 was insane. It was like if Bernie would have won the 2016 primary. Obama betrayed the values that got him elected in 2008 when he bailed out wall street and didn’t regulate how they spent their bailout money.

Yeah and he managed to weather that betrayal and still win in 2012 pretty much on sheer force of personality, just like it’s exceedingly clear to anyone with eyes to see that Trump is also an establishment hack, but he survives it on sheer force of personality. Trump is deadass Republican Obama.
