There hasn’t been an increase of pedophiles and bigots…they’ve always been around and are just more comfortable being open about itWe can talk about this I don’t mind! I do think there has been an increase in antisemitism. I mainly think this because I personally haven’t seen it much until around the Israel Palestine conflict got bigger if that makes sense? I’m not saying Israel is in the right, they obviously aren’t. But me being black, the main form of bigotry I’ve seen is anti-black racism(as I experience it) and bigotry towards the LGBTQ community(because it’s sadly very common in the black community.)
Like, I’m pretty sure a lot of anti semites have ALWAYS been antisemites and it could be the same with racism and homophobia n such but I feel this way cause I haven’t rlly seen it up until recently with Israel and Palestinian and the normalized bigotry on the right. I’m also obviously not saying that Pro Palestine ppl are antisemitic
What I was trying to say is, my theory is that people who were already anti-Black but not antisemitic are adding Jews to the list of people they hate. I actually think the same may be happening with South Asians recently. Im not an expert its purely anecdotal from being chronically online. Also, I think it has little to do with Israel and more to do with the big antisemitic conspiracy theory gaining more followers online because, I honestly think 10 years ago that theory just wasn’t as known.
Maybe im over analyzing this, but I think the decline of Ben Shapiro is actually a digital artifact that suggests what im saying might hold water. Ben Shapiro’s audience has always been a bit rife with anti-Black bias at best, but that same crowd is adopting antisemitic beliefs and turning on him. Look at Ben Shapiro’s view counts or comment sections lately. I think the shift happened during the lockdown when American conservatives consumed more Nazi online memes.
