The more you lean about the Israeli government & the views shared by many living in Israel the scarier Israel becomes. It truly is a fascist country

They’re literally like MAGA. “It’s a lie” “oh it happened but it was completely justified”

I will say it’s important to not demonize every israeli. The people are not their government. There are real people living in israel that disagree with their government

the people are not their government but let’s not dismiss the fact that most israelis do have an extremist ideology that is harmful to Palestinians. the vast majority of them do not support Palestinian statehood and do not wish to treat them as equals.

I see that but I also agree with 5. We don’t want to all be labeled as racist supporters of pedophilia and corruption just because a plurality voted for Trump

except the difference is that this is supported by statistical evidence showing an overwhelming majority of israelis believe this. this is not comparable to the US political climate. again, the people are not their government, but just like with any other fascist apartheid state, many people who live there are still influenced by an extremist ideology.

here’s a more recent poll which confirms consistency. it’s not fair to generalize about an entire population, but what’s not okay is to use the excuse of the far right government to take away accountability for having a harmful ideology.

in other words, it’s not about blaming every individual, but about recognizing shared responsibility for the systems and beliefs that enable harm. the government doesn’t exist in a vacuum, they rely on the consent, silence, or participation of their citizens to maintain systems of control. dismissing that connection by saying “it’s just the government” lets people distance themselves from the structures that harm Palestinians and delays the collective responsibility needed for change.
