we have the highest incarceration rates per capita in the entire world that is higher than China and Russia. 1.9 million people are incarcerated and we also have the highest recidivism rates in the world. We also still use solitary confinement which the UN classifies as human torture. Not to mention sentencing disparities that lead to the unequal punishment against black people
