How is it a problem?

Because they are bringing a culture different than that of Americas culture in turn destroying it. Americans are also having less kids due to the rising cost of everything so we are getting less and less Americans who value American culture and more and more foreign individuals who put other countries first ofc there are some exceptions but this is true for the most part. As well as struggling infrastructure you take a look at our schools roads ect and see how everything is always so overcrowded

Because we are taking in more immigrants and our infrastructure cannot keep up. Same thing with rising prices for everything while keeping wages low. Supply and demand. More demand for goods more supply for workers = lower wages and higher cost of goods

Have you ever seen Benjamin Franklins comments on the swarthy stupid Germans who’d ruin America if they came here? And how they aren’t white enough to be part of America and would ruin it with their swarthy selves?

You realize immigrants are also part of the workforce so stopping immigration will also decrease supply

Jobs aren’t like this finite number that never goes up. More ppl equals more jobs and more growth opportunities for more businesses immigration is just a net positive. The thing with immigrants taking lesser wages, whilst it can be true sometimes is more an issue of usually republicans propagating wanting that in legislation or not doing shit about it.

These ppl don’t understand the only reason America still has a net positive work force entry then leaving compared to developed Europe and Asia is immigration. Which have a net negative rlly fucks your economy and puts strain on social systems.

Yea I agree that more people = more jobs but we are in a situation where we are getting more people than jobs and that’s what I’m against. I think we need to be strict on illegal immigration and be more careful on who we accept as citizens but make an easier shorter path to citizenship especially for people with families and no criminal history who actually want to work.

Like 40% of everyone in the US is a descendant of mass migration to Ellis Island. We are not even close to approaching, proportionally at least, the immigration levels we had during Peak Migration in the 1900s, and people are screened far more rigorously because we implemented the visa system in the 20s explicitly to keep people out. Genuinely I don’t think you know how immigration works or have a sense of the scale of things. We are fine.

Tbh I would go so far as to say it’s not a coincidence that an economic boom follows our policies of pulling in more immigrants at the turn of the 20th century, and the abrupt reversal is followed shortly after by a Great Depression. There are other factors obviously but immigrants have always been a boon to us.

Right but like I said other Europeans immigrating to a country built by Europeans who want to adapt to the American culture are not the same thing as people with vastly different cultures built by people with vastly different beliefs and backgrounds and do not want to adapt to American culture

1) this is literally exactly what was said about Southern and Eastern European immigrants coming to Ellis. They were seen as unassimilable and too culturally different because they were basically not considered white in the same way Western Europeans (with the exception of the Irish) were. 2) this is basically just an admission that you’re racist.
